Vicki Shiflet
Children’s DirectorI grew up attending here at Clifton Christian Church and was raised just a few blocks down the road. I graduated from Central High School and then went on to college, but did not finish. I am married with three girls and we are an extremely active family. I was asked in May 2008 to come on staff to help with the children’s programming and make sure there were classes on the weekends, and a midweek program, attend two camps in the summer, and have Vacation Bible School. This little job for a mom who was just going to come on board to help out a little has grown into a full blown ministry position. It has been very rewarding in many ways and I have learned so much. I love our children here at Clifton Christian Church and have watched many of them move on to be in ministry of their own. I started back on my college journey back in 2010 and graduated with my bachelors in psychology in May 2019. I pray God has many more years of ministry here at this church for me.

Youth MinisterAfter moving to the Grand Valley in 2001, my family and I began attending Clifton Christian Church in 2003, and in June of 2005 I gave my life to Christ: thus began my journey into the ministry. Through the work of Christ and the encouragement of many mentors – several of whom I now work with – I felt God’s call in my life to youth ministry.
In 2009 I enrolled at Summit Christian College, formerly Platte Valley Bible College, in Gering, Nebraska, and by 2013 graduated magna cum laude with a BA in Bible with an emphasis in Ministry. During that time I worked as a volunteer youth leader at Alliance Christian Church in Alliance , Nebraska. Upon graduating, I took my first youth ministry position there, working full-time to support my family and my ministry. After four years of seeing God work in the lives of teens at Alliance, God granted my wife Hannah, and I the desire of our hearts and brought us back to the Grand Valley. I am now serving as an Associate at Clifton Christian Church with a focus on our youth ministry – God is awesome.
I met my wonderful wife during my senior year of high school – go Bulldogs – and asked for her hand just before leaving for college. To my ultimate surprise and elation she said, “Yes!” and we have enjoyed 5 happy years together. She is an incredible part of my ministry, going above and beyond in helping myself as well as the students, providing an amazing testimony to young women what a godly woman looks like. As I stated above, it is the desire of our hearts to be back home, ministering alongside an awesome team of godly men and women, and we couldn’t be happier to be a part of this body.

Terry Leathermon
Associate Minister/WorshipI was born here in Grand Junction, Colorado. After moving to several different cities and several different states, my family moved to Scottsbluff , Nebraska where I finished my High School Degree from Gering Christian Academy and then my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Bible and Ministry from Platte Valley Bible College (now Summit Christian College).
I got to marry the girl of my dreams, Jori in 1999 and I still can’t believe how lucky I am. Jori and I have 3 amazing kids, Chandler, Sawyer, (aka Bean), and Brier. It has been such a blessing for them to be home schooled for the past 2 years.
Jori and I moved to Grand Junction to work as the Associate Minister/Worship here at Clifton Christian Church in 2001. During that time I have had the opportunity to oversee the Praise and Music program, preach many times, work with small groups, lead teams in short-term missions, and serve as a coach to the community groups.

Associate Minister/InvolvementI spent my early childhood in Iowa, moved to Minnesota while a teenager, completed High School in Owatonna, MN and graduated with a BTh degree from Crossroads College. After marrying Linda McAliley, we spent two years in youth ministry at the Stilwell, OK Christian Church before entering missionary work in Zambia. We spent fifteen years in a church planting ministry in Zambia then moved to Malawi for another five years. Due to voice problems, we left the foreign mission field and joined Turkish World Outreach in Grand Junction, Colorado where we served for twenty years. Ten of those years I served as Field Director which involved recruiting and sending church planters into the Turkic world. Upon retirement from TWO, I joined the staff of Clifton Christian Church where I serve as an Associate (Minister Involvement). Linda and I have two children, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Roger Ferguson
Senior MinisterOur Senior Minister is Roger Ferguson. Roger is a graduate of Central Christian College in Missouri with a B.A. degree in Bible. He has done follow up studies in Cultural Anthropology, Family Counseling and Church Growth. He has been in full time ministry since 1974. Upon receiving his ordination he began working in the Chicago area as an evangelist for the Chicago District Evangelizing Association and as Pastor of the First Christian Church in Lansing, Illinois.
In 1980 he began his ministry with Clifton Christian Church and is still serving us today nearly 35 years later. Roger believes the answer to mankind’s needs is a genuine following of the teachings of Jesus Christ and his Apostles as found in the Bible. He strives to teach and preach these eternal truths with clarity and conviction. He is gifted in encouraging others to follow Jesus in a real life sort of way.
Roger’s beautiful wife is Mary, who for 23 years worked for Mesa County Department of Social Services. They have three grown children, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Roger enjoys golf, traveling and just a good conversation with friends about what the Lord is doing in our lives.
